LiteBite Privacy Policy

LiteBite lets a diner order from their table and lets a restaurant's owner and waiters handle that order. This policy explains what information the app collects, where it goes, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Effective 8 October 2026.

Who is responsible

LiteBite is operated by Tasman Tech and Trade Limited, Bangladesh. If you have a question about this policy or about your data, contact us using the details in the Contact section below.

A restaurant that uses LiteBite decides what it does with the orders it receives. Questions about a particular order, or about how a restaurant uses your name and phone number, are best put to that restaurant first.

The short version

If you are a diner

You can order without signing up, in the app or in your phone's web browser: scanning a table's QR code with your phone's camera opens that table's menu in the browser. LiteBite creates an anonymous identifier for your app installation, or for that browser, so that your orders can be found again and nobody else can change them. That identifier is not linked to an email address or a social account.

When you send an order, the following is stored and shown to the restaurant's staff:

In the app, your name and phone number are also kept on your own phone so you do not have to type them again. An unfinished cart is kept on your phone for up to 12 hours. The app also keeps a copy of your recent orders and the restaurants you have opened on your phone, so they load quickly.

In a browser, your name and phone number, your cart and a short record of an order while it is being sent are kept in that browser's storage for the LiteBite site. Clearing the browser's data for the site, or closing a private window, removes them, and the browser can then no longer show you the order. The restaurant still has it.

A table's QR code holds a link to that table. Depending on when it was made, the link contains the restaurant's identifier, which is its owner's email address, or a short code that stands for the table.

If you sign in as a diner

In the app, a diner can choose to sign in with Google, or on iPhone and iPad also with Apple. Ordering does not need it, and it is not offered in the browser. From Google we receive your email address, display name and profile picture. From Apple we receive the email address Apple supplies, which is a relay address if you choose to hide your email, and, if Apple provides it, your name. If you have not entered a name for your orders, the app uses the name from that account.

Orders you place while signed in are recorded under that account's email address. Signing out removes the name and phone number saved on the phone.

If you are a restaurant owner or a waiter

Staff sign in with Google, or on iPhone and iPad also with Apple. From Google we receive your email address, display name and profile picture. From Apple we receive the email address Apple supplies and, if Apple provides it, your name. If you choose to hide your email, we receive the relay address Apple generates, and that address is the one LiteBite knows you by.

The email address you sign in with is also how LiteBite identifies a restaurant (the owner's address) and a waiter.

A restaurant owner can also sign in with Google at litebiteapp.com/manage, a web dashboard where they can follow and handle the restaurant's orders, print customers' bills, and manage its tables and their QR codes.

When a restaurant owner signs in to the app, the app also records details of the device used: its make and model, its name, its operating-system version, build identifiers, and the amount of memory it has. These are stored with the owner's account record.

A restaurant's record contains what the owner enters:

A waiter's record is created by the restaurant's owner and can contain the waiter's name, email address, mobile number, date of birth, a profile photo, the tables assigned to them, and a photo of an identity document if the owner uploads one. An owner should only enter this information about a member of staff with that person's knowledge.

Photos and other images

Images added in LiteBite — a restaurant's cover and profile pictures, dish and offer photos, table QR images, and the photos in a waiter's record — are uploaded to Imgur, an image-hosting service operated by a separate company. LiteBite stores the address of each image.

An image held this way is not protected by sign-in. Anyone who has the image's address can open it. Please keep that in mind before uploading anything sensitive.

Who can see what

What we use the information for

We do not sell personal information.

Payment

LiteBite does not process payments. It records what was ordered and the amount due, and the table pays the restaurant directly. The app never asks for, receives or stores card numbers, bank details or mobile-wallet credentials.

Permissions

LiteBite does not ask for access to your contacts, your microphone, your messages or your call history. Buttons that phone or message a restaurant hand the number to your phone's own dialler or messaging app.

Printing kitchen tickets and bills

In the Android app, a staff member can print a kitchen ticket or a customer's bill. The app sends it directly from that phone to the selected Bluetooth printer. A kitchen ticket shows the restaurant's name, the order's number, the table, the time and the items. A bill also shows the restaurant's phone number, the order ID, the diner's name, and the amounts. The choice of printer and paper width is stored on that phone only.

So that the next ticket carries only newly added items, LiteBite records with the order which items have already been sent to the kitchen. Only the restaurant's staff can see that record.

On the web dashboard, a bill is printed through your browser's own print function. A printed ticket or bill is a piece of paper in the restaurant's hands, and what happens to it is up to the restaurant.

Services we rely on

These companies run their services on their own infrastructure, which may be in a country other than yours. Each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.

LiteBite contains no advertising software and no separate crash-reporting service. The browser version and the web dashboard include no analytics software.

How long information is kept

There is no automatic deletion schedule. An order stays in the restaurant's records after it is closed, as part of that restaurant's history, unless the restaurant removes it or the owner's account is deleted. Restaurant, menu, table, waiter and account records stay until they are changed or deleted.

When a restaurant owner deletes their account, each of the restaurant's past orders leaves an anonymous record of when it was placed, how many items it had and its totals. It contains no names, phone numbers, tables or dishes, and nothing that identifies the restaurant. Whenever an account or a diner's data is deleted, we also keep a record that a deletion took place: the kind of account, the time, how many orders were turned into anonymous records and how many photos could not be removed, without anything that says whose it was.

Information kept on your own phone — your name and phone number, your cart, and the copy of your recent orders — is removed when you delete the app or clear its data. Delete my data, described below, also clears the name, phone number and cart. In a browser, this information is removed when you clear the browser's data for the site.

Deleting your information

You can delete your account, or your data as a diner, from inside the app:

When an owner's or a waiter's account is deleted, the photos uploaded with it are removed from the image host where the host allows; if any are left, the app says how many and asks you to contact us. Because a deletion cannot be undone, the app may ask you to sign in once more to confirm it is you.

If you no longer have the app, ordered in a browser, or want us to do it for you, see litebiteapp.com/delete-account, or contact us using the details below. Tell us the email address you sign in with or, if you ordered as a diner, the phone number you ordered with and the restaurant.

Some records are shared. An order belongs both to the diner and to the restaurant it was placed with, and a restaurant's records are used by its whole team. When you ask us for a deletion we will tell you what we can remove and what, if anything, has to stay, before we act.

Your choices

Security

We design toward privacy, clarity and user control. Information travels between the app and our service providers over encrypted connections, access to orders and account records is limited as described above, and an order's total is calculated on the server from the restaurant's menu. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Children

LiteBite is a tool for restaurants and their customers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child.

This website

This page is part of litebiteapp.com, which also serves the browser version of LiteBite and the restaurant web dashboard. The pages set no advertising or tracking cookies and run no analytics. The browser version keeps the items described under “If you are a diner” in your browser’s storage. If you email us, we receive whatever you send.

Legal requests

We may disclose information where we are legally required to.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will update this page. Continuing to use LiteBite after a change means the updated policy applies.
